The Dusty Boots Ranch is located in Grant County New Mexico in the beautiful mountains east of the Mimbres River. The surrounding area is little changed from the early years of the Old West. The Dusty Boots Ranch is +/-1124 acres consisting of varied topography including rolling hills, canyons, plateaus, and mountains. Noonday Canyon runs through the ranch. This canyon produces a seasonal stream and is a major tributary of the Mimbres River. It is said that in the days when Kingston and Pinos Altos were booming mining camps, persons traveling between the two always tried to arrive at this canyon and its reliable water at noon, hence the name. Vegetation consists of native grasses including side oats grama, and blue grama as major species. Canyons and hillsides are lined with mature pinon, juniper and oak.
